I have no doubt that she thoroughly deserved the treatment that was metered out to her. It's vital that staff realise that slovenly work cannot be tolerated, especially if we are to maintain our competitive edge in these difficult days of ' Brexit '. All staff must take responsibility and suffer the consequences when they fail.

I would just add that even if her work had been of an exemplary standard and worthy of high praise, i would probably have given her exactly the same treatment, except it would have been by way of reward rather than punishment.
